“He, She and Kotliarevsky” — a vibrant new Ukrainian comedy
Laughter, passion, and an unmistakably Ukrainian spirit: the Coliseum Producer Center presents its new theatre premiere, “He, She and Kotliarevsky”, already shaping up to be one of the season’s most memorable productions.
The comedy play “He, She and Kotliarevsky” will be performed in Warsaw, Dublin, and London. It is an expressive, musical, and strikingly contemporary production in which the classical Ukrainian text of Ivan Kotliarevsky finds a new voice.

Humour, mystery, and love on stage
A dynamic story unfolds on stage, where humour, songs, intrigue, and unexpected plot twists hold the audience’s attention until the final minute.
The play transports viewers into the atmosphere of a traditional Ukrainian home, which suddenly becomes a place of adventure. Love, jealousy, cunning, and mystical elements intertwine here. There is room for laughter, unexpected emotions, and the light theatrical magic that makes live performance so captivating.
Audiences will meet a colourful cast of characters: a jealous travelling merchant, a shrewd Roma blacksmith, a lecherous clerk, and a wise hostess. For two hours, an ordinary Ukrainian home turns into a true stage of wonders, ruled by mischief, jealousy, love, and a touch of the supernatural.

“He, She and Kotliarevsky” is made possible through the joint work of leading Ukrainian cultural platforms. The production is presented in collaboration with the First Theatre of Entreprise and Comedy, the independent touring platform ComedySpace Production, and the Coliseum Producer Center.
The stage director is Anatolii Hnatiuk, the choreographer is Dmytro Lukianenko, and the producers are Oleh Shpanchuk and Serhii Chudaiev. Together, they have created a contemporary musical theatre production that brings Ukrainian traditions and humour together.
