On March 30, 2026, “Caligula” will be staged at the Gustaw Holoubek Drama Theater in Warsaw. This production by the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater tells the story of a man who challenges the gods themselves, a man who wants to take their place and even surpass them. After losing his sinful love for his sister, “Caligula” tries to escape the madness and pain of emptiness left behind by the loss of his soul mate, using his unlimited power to do so.

In the spring of 2026, Ukrainian director Ivan Uryvskyi's play “Caligula”, based on the play by Albert Camus, will also be performed in Paris, Vienna, Wrocław, and Berlin. "Caligula" tells the story of a real Roman emperor who went down in history as a monster in human form. It is a complex and tragic story, and the hero is captivating and mesmerizing in his own way. What lies behind his overt cruelty, contempt for everyone and everything, and ultimately hatred?
